This is exciting work! As a Fedora user knowing Fedora follows upstream pretty closely, I can expect a lot of what's happening in KDE Linux to show up on my laptop eventually. It seems like a great testbed, and I hope that the increased usage of Btrfs snapshots leads to some real usability improvements and maybe fixing some of the longstanding concerns people have with Btrfs. More eyes and all that.
Is it strange that a part of me hopes GNOME Linux and KDE Linux both grow beyond testing distros? I already use flatpaks for most of my applications, and my GNOME laptop is very GNOME while my KDE laptop is very KDE. I don't think my daily usage would look much different if I replaced Fedora with some future stable releases of their respective distros. I suppose a drawback would be increased division between the two camps, where with Debian or Fedora you can switch between the two at your discretion. Nevertheless, as an appliance OS I think it could be good.
