After protesters chained and locked the building entrance police initially declined to arrest anyone (that's Frisco) and told the protesters that they could continue to protest on the sidewalk. They refused.
As for regaining humanity, the co-founder of the group she belongs said in November (as reported in the article linked here and elsewhere) that the 'non-violence ship may have sailed'.
