Leifer left for Israel and feigned illness to convince the courts to postpone and eventually cancel the case against her; there was also alleged interference by Israeli officials to prevent her extradition back to Australia where the abuse took place. I’m glad to see in this article that religious authorities are speaking up about it and hope this loophole is closed…
