Bari Weiss is that classic cocktail of malicious and overestimating their own intelligence. For those who haven’t been paying attention, the administration and their ideologues are keen to throw women like her under the bus. Her first mistake is assuming she is indispensable.
Ratings are down, sometimes double digits depending on the program. She's still in her job with the full support of leadership. I can only conclude then that it's not about the ratings at all.
Maybe not reddit, but they presumably reach a lot of boomers, which tends to have much higher voting percentage, which means discounting their reach would be shortsighted.
I also think a 60 Minutes demographic viewer is more likely to just watch what is put in front of them rather than realize a rightwing nutjob bought the company and is firing people if they cover Trump truthfully.
