Yeah it’s like the mom can’t accept the guilt that she (accidentally) killed her own daughter so she’s putting the blame elsewhere. But drinking and then co-sleeping with your infant is a recipe for disaster.
I understand that she needs an external cause of death because for her to have contributed would be unbearable. I have a 17m old and I can't imagine being able to keep going if he died, let alone if I had been responsible. The guilt she feels must be extreme; not drinking alcohol is like co-sleeping 101.
It's sad, though, that she is contributing to a movement that has the potential to seriously harm and kill many more children.
And now Mama Bear of the Year™ here is trying to massage her ego, hide her guilt, and make $$$ by getting as many other kids as possible killed/maimed. Frankly, she should feel horrible, because she did kill her kid through her own negligence, and the whole problem is that she's too much of a coward to accept the cold fact that she deserves to feel like shit. (You probably shouldn't cosleep with your baby, and you definitely shouldn't flop on top of your baby after guzzling Jack Daniels! Oh, how could this outcome ever have been foreseen, alas poor little dear!) Had she not been a "respectable" class white lady, she would have very likely landed in jail, for god's sake.
My sympathy machine is completely out of service for her; I'm just so tired of this expectation to constantly reassure and hold the hands of people who dedicate themselves to constantly spitting in everyone else's faces, and making the world a more miserable place for us all

My grandma was born in Brazil in 1924. Many vaccines didn’t exist, or if they did, they weren’t covered by the government. They became more prevalent in the 60’s.
Anyway, her best friend got tuberculosis and died when they were in their early 20’s. To her death at age 84, my grandma grieved her friend's death and all the beauty that the lady could have done with her life. A totally preventable death with vaccines.
