Fireflies aren’t the only wonders that can be lit. There is also magic in being where there is no light pollution and the stars look close enough to touch.
The sky was incredibly beautiful when we drove through Death Valley at night. It always makes me think of ancient peoples and how they saw the sky like that every night.
It is possible to create more of that dark sky magic even in our own neighborhoods. I am not a shill for Dark Skies, but they do have a certification program for lighting that does not interfere as much with being able to see the stars in your neighborhood. Plus, it’s good for the birdies and the pollinators.
r/darksky might be the name of the sub that goes into a lot more detail.

That sounds like a good idea
I've wanted to experience a meteor shower or something like that in the desert. I bet it's beautiful.
Also, thunder and lightning storms.

Same region, I sometimes find myself driving the highway north of Roswell. You can really see the night sky out there.
