It was a clear, decisive victory which makes it impossible for Trump to try manipulating or fighting the results. There was always a chance he was going to have ICE confiscate ballot boxes or some other insanity that could lead to major turmoil.
There was also genuine fear of election tampering or drawn out battles. Instead the victory is overwhelming and it seems Trump and co are not going to put up a fight. He's already retreated in to talking about his ballroom.
I think there is a quote from a French politician that sums it up: “world stability shouldn’t depend on 10 thousand voters in Wisconsin.”
Found it:
“We cannot leave the security of Europe in the hands of voters in Wisconsin every four years.” But sentiment the same: world stability should not be decided by a few thousand voters in swing states. It’s just absurd we have to hold our breath again in 2 years praying for sanity.
With the state legislature sweeps this cycle, there are Democratic trifectas in enough states to pass the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, so hopefully the 2028 Presidential election will be a popular vote contest
Also as an international investor I have been hesitant to continue investing in the US when I’m not sure about the future of the country. IMO a Democratic senate and Congress is more likely to push back on Trump’s isolationist approach which should give confidence to foreign nations that their money is safe in the US. I expect international demand also pushed the US markets.
You could also sort states by %R vote share, scroll to bottom, and see that every deep red state is an uneducated poor corrupt drug and crime infested shithole with an economy based on pulling shit out of the ground.
>“Divided government has generally made it harder for fiscal stimulus to be passed,” Deutsche Bank analysts wrote in a note. “So, that’s eased concerns on the fiscal trajectory a bit.”
Wow that is pretty savage from a bank. Essentially "divided government made it so you can't waste money so freely" is how they are putting it. America will do better economically because the government cannot waste money now....
I mean, that’s right. For the past 2 years, Congress under GOP rule abdicated their responsibilities as the brakes and purse strings for the government. That’s part of why voters (and now the Dems they put in power) so heavily swung towards anti-corruption and checks on power.
Where’s RobertBartus with a chart saying the markets gained trillions in value in a single day??? We get one every time the market drops by more than a half a point. We should see them every time the market gains.
All them forced gay sharia law marriages, guillotine construction, weed injectors, and abortion superstores being built are gonna be great for the economy.
Can the left please stop posting about the stock market. The left has rejected the stock market as a barometer of the average American. The stock market represents the K shaped economy. Boosting wealth for the rich while the bottom of the K continues to decline. Even under democrat administration those in the bottom will continue to decline. The democrats cannot and will not save you. The majority of policy won’t largely benefit the average American. You will continue to live out the same life you’ve been living in.
Small “superficial” wins such as investigations and impeachment will take place but lead nowhere. If you’re struggling now, you’ll continue to struggle. If you’re doing well, you’ll continue to do well.
Show me the consumer sentiment report. Nothing has changed, most things won’t change, but I want to see what it says over the coming months. Pure derangement but I need to see it for myself and laugh.
Folks are posting it as more of a “lmao guess GOP isn’t the party of big business and the economy after all” because literally fucking everyone, even the ghouls funding PACs, can see this is better for the country.

Markets love stability.
Republicans love an unstable lunatic.
America has rejected the unstable lunatic.
Hence: market stability and better predictability.
Dems once again are proving they are the superior party for American prosperity.

I wouldn’t care if my portfolio dropped in value today as long as we are rid of Abbott, Collins, Paxton, Lindsey’s sister and hopefully Boebert.

I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is sarcasm. But that might be all of my injected weed talking.

Well... no. What you're saying is demonstrably bullshit - and precisely the kind of thing Republicans deliver when they're in power.
