Good lord what an evil little man. It seems like every ounce of his philosophy and self-proclaimed values add nothing but hatred and pain to the world. Despicable tbh
Damn this man holds some horrible opinions. A transphobic Islamophobic MAGAt who thinks he can do no wrong and who held up the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti as justified because they were "violent with the officers" (so he's a liar too)
The violentness of Pretti and Goode's conduct was an aside. The swarm of uncoordinated ICE goons around each gave conflicting commands and no chance or time for any compliance.
Not that that matters, because this "doctor" is indeed peddaling a lie
I would NOT have pegged a former public defender turned doctor who spent his life serving the poor and under-privileged as TN’s Official Execution Provider.
A former DA. A Dr whose license was iffy. A Dr who worked IN the prison.
Not a volunteer whose PREVIOUS job was to keep people OFF of death row and whose CURRENT job is dealing with drug and pain (and addiction) management in poor communities. Sort of feels like he HATES all his current and former clients
To be fair, in describing his public defence work, I don't get the impression he was "serving" the community, per se. What he was doing was a job, but it didn't necessarily lead to justice. He repeatedly engages in rape apologia throughout the article, and it's clear that he judged his clients heavily. I'd be curious how successful a defence he actually mounted for any of them.
One thing that really stuck out at me was this anecdote:
> There were rewarding moments, such as a case involving a man who had been charged with harassing his ex-girlfriend. Fowler convinced the man to stop contacting her, got the case heard in a lower local court that doesn’t keep formal records, “and it saved that man’s job and his reputation.”
This is not a man who was ever interested in helping or serving victims. He has always wanted to execute his own warped sense of justice. Getting to kill people is just the logical endpoint of it.
It’s just, I am in a lawyer. You had to WANT to be a PD. It was a thankless job. It didn’t pay well. You worked with pretty terrible people sometimes. And you had loans to repay…
Then he goes to medical school. More loans. More time in school and not earning money. Could go be a “fancy” doctor. Nope, goes into elder care and pain management.
He purposely chose jobs dealing with people he doesn’t seem to like or respect. Making the least amount of money in potentially lucrative fields.
He has this odd martyr complex where he saves absolutely no one and punishes himself while also taking out his unhappiness on others and claims it’s Gods work because he makes so little “serving” those less fortunate or doing jobs no one else will do.
No, but you are evil.
No equivocating. If you, as a medical professional or medical adjacent, willfully participate in murdering someone who poses no imminent threat, you are evil.

I had gleaned a lot of that just from this article. He’s a pretty despicable character, in my view. The more I read, the more I disliked the guy.
