But they do force federal employees to enforce stupid policies. Trump has turned executive orders into bastards of what they were meant. But, on the plus side, you can invest in iron lungs and wheelchairs because polio is about to make a comeback.
So, pretty much, if you were born before roughly 2005 you definitely got the vaccine. If after, you might have the antivaxxer parents, who think vaccines are wizard poison. Polio was erradicated from the US, but still exists worldwide, so the vaccine is readily available and actually very cheap to make. You really only need it once, but again, if people had antivaxxer parents, they are fucked. Also, measles causes immune system amnesia, so if you got the polio vaccine and then got measles, you potentially could get polio.
Like there's big reasons why vaccines are important, and RFK Jr is a full on murderer for telling people to not get them.
I'm worried for the children and adults that never got antibodies from the aforementioned vaccines. Even if you don't know you got it, isn't it helping everybody out to get it regardless?

At this point there is only one way to remove them from power. The good news is that the "holding them to account" bit is kind of baked in to that method.
Soon they're going to executive order links between autism, transgenderism, and undesirable genetics with anti-Trumpism, and therefore anti-Americanism, and therefore "dangerous radicalism," enabling them to label all such people as "domestic terror threats." Then it's off to the camps!
That's their idea, at least. We can still turn things around. People just need to wake up and smell the fascism. We'll see how it goes.
RFK has said he wants to round up everyone with ADHD into “farm camps” to help heal us away from modern technology and medications. Pretty sure they want forced agricultural labor.
I assume that’s where they want to send the autistic folks too. Sadly, it would not surprise me if they tried to “treat” people aka experiment on them without consent. Especially those most vulnerable with higher support needs, which is really sickening.
Why would they deny it when their goal is exactly the same as every other fascist movement, turn the "undesirables" into slave labor. Remember RFK jrs "Wellness farms" idea?
We are called a "canary in the coalmine demographic" for a reason. We are always one of the very first to be targeted by such movements. Vilified, dehumanized, treated as undesirable.
Maybe you heard RFK talking specifically about us falsely saying we will "never start a family, move out of home, hold a job or go to school". He was describing those on the lowest functionality end of the spectrum, they are far from the majority.
The overwhelming majority of us do indeed have and do all or most of those things. Family, work, education, etc. But the goal is to make us seem barely human. Right now they using it to try and scare parents into seeing us as horrible outcomes that barely function in order to scare them out of getting vaccines so it serves a double focus.
It serves to spread misinformation about people on the spectrum and our quality of life, and it scares dumb gullible people into fearing autism spectrum so much they'd rather risk having a dead child than an autistic one.
With enough people having the wrong impression of autistic people and seeing them as less than an average human combined with our society's obsession with productivity justifying damn near anything, forced labor as a means of "contributing to society" becomes palatable to those who were gullible, naive and shitty enough to fall for it all.
The goal is always the policing of outgroups that have lower public visibility and so won't be missed when they are disappeared to labor camps. Throw in cheap labor and you can see where this leads and why.
There's also some who believe that being on the spectrum makes us less susceptible to normal means of propaganda, something to do with how we tend to analyze the world differently from our "neurotypical"(a term within the autistic community referring to those not on the spectrum, it can be said with resentment and spite but that is not how I'm using it) peers.
Dunno how accurate it is but it would as usual vary from person to person. But they hate intellectuals and those less likely to fall in line, question their intentions, loyalty and ethics and just anyone who isn't a maleable dipshit.
[He has successfully executive ordered his way around the Constitution, why not try to employ executive orders to rewrite science???](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/126/314/3cd8a33a.png?1306264975)
Tell that to the millions of people around the world that can and will use this stunt as a justification to skip vaccinations… It’s much easier to erode trust and confidence in science than it is to build it…
So what is the angle here? To relieve the guilt of conservative parents from feeling like it was caused by their genetics? To try and sue pharmaceutical companies for damages but then keep all the money for the government in the name of covering Medicaid costs?
I think that's the primary driver here. Trump could never admit that his "perfect" genes could have sired someone on the spectrum, so he latched onto these crackpot explanations to assuage his ego.
My money is on an order compelling the development of new separate vaccines for measles, mumps, and rubella to replace the current MMR combined vaccine.
For some reason Trump is very, very keen on doing that, and it plays publicly as less pants-on-head than other vaccine policy changes. Childhood vaccine skepticism polls poorly, and his advisors don't want him to to appear too wacky three months before mid-terms.
It's the kind of thing that's a bad idea, but it doesn't seem threatening to Joe and Janey Voter.
Yeah, but it's a big thing in the antivax movement for some reason.
Trump is obsessed with the idea, because it fits OK with his personal support of vaccines (he's vaccinated, his family is vaccinated) while still feeding right-wing paranoia that people with education are out to get you.
This was literally what the plan was for the guy who started the modern antivaxx movement, Andrew Wakefield. He claimed the three together were dangerous but separate they were fine, and he falsified evidence in his “study” linking MMR to autism.
Turns out he was hired by an American lawyer to create doubt about MMR so they could market their own measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines they were going to sell.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Trump wanted in on that grift.
That and making a play for a voting block to show up in the midterms. Its a small block, but it's rabid and will likely show up in force -- more then enough people to turn a close election.
Not just fiddling while Rome burns but throwing fuel on it in so many ways, basically tearing down civilization in as many ways as possible every day!!!
I gather in your country the electorate is a monolith and everybody feels / votes the same way?
Lots of us didn't want this. The majority of voters voted for Clinton in '16.
In 2024 Trump won the popular vote 49.8% to 48.3% with the bulk of his support coming from rural areas. Many of us who are urban dwellers feel held hostage at this point. Our Constitution offers no substantive recourse. We can protest and we do.
My electorate at least ensures that the entire electorate votes for a start, and use a preferential system to do exactly what you are saying.
And secondly, your shitty system aside, the fact you are sitting on reddit and not in the streets protesting 24/7 until change happens is a failing on you, just as much as the people who voted for that clown in.
Stop blaming other people and do something your damned selves.
What matters isn't the EO, but how the media will report on the EO. EO's mean nothing other than as an outline of how the federal govt will treat internal policy, though to be fair that incudes funding that isn't specifically directed from Congress. It doesn't change how vaccines work or what hospitals use or how, or the science of vaccines or anything else. How our media covers this EO and it's impacts is going to be very important, because they tend to cover EOs as if they're federal laws when they are not.
"Well, it is made of cheese. They showed me those rocks and dirt and I ate a spoonful of that dirt and it tasted exactly like cheese the best cheese ya ever had ya commie. Now for my next executive order, I am jeebus cuz I say I am."
But aren’t most people in America vaccinated but not autistic?
Over 90% of American children receive the normal vaccine schedule. Do they think all of those kids are going to turn autistic? Is everyone autistic now?
Seems like there a strong link between this administration and -
For just $100000 a month, you'll receive the end of this and many more sentences before the peasants and scum of the bottom 99.9%
The idea that vaccines cause autism is 1000% bullshit, but even if it weren’t: vaccines save lives, and autistic people’s lives matter.
People who want to ban vaccines because they (falsely) think they cause autism are telling autistic people that they’d rather have kids be dead than autistic.
And given that we know that autism is (at least to some extent) genetic, it’s only a short step from “ban vaccines because they (supposedly) cause autism” to “forcibly sterilize autistic people” or “round autistic people up and put them to death.”
As dumb as this whole administration has been... this has to be the stupidest idea yet. The nonsense vaccine/autism thing has been investigated to death for years, and it has never produced any evidence. Just at face value, how is a vaccine given after birth causing autism in the first place? It is way more likely that during pregnancy while the brain is being developed, there is some trigger there.
When someone in such position like him and his staff make these claims, they go past the US. People in other countries are listening to them.
The next epidemic isn't going to be like COVID, it's going to be a disease humanity has kept under control for decades, that has available vaccines, except people will refuse to take them.
And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'
When people use the “both sides” argument, it’s warranted, but hella infuriating. It’s never to say it’s great — it’s only because moderates, liberals, or far leftists would never draw up such a stupid policy without any real evidence nor any to help the general public. Our legislators and the general public at large are basically illiterate by choice. Do they not realize their idol has likely taken vaccines, but the general public should not be allowed to decide for themselves.
Wonderful. I’m due to re-up my neurodivergence levels with the latest jabs very soon!
Maybe I’ll score the coveted forms of autism that give musical talent or a way to focus on learning math. My current neurodivergence is over-fixated on lava lamps and chocolate, which don’t exactly pay the bills.
This nonsense epitomizes the arrogant ignorance of this entire administration. Take something scientifically proven to be false and assert it to be true.
This administration is just going full bore on the lies, propaganda and just making shit up in general. I’d laugh but I know too many people who have wholeheartedly accepted this horse shit.
The whole country is complicit and in the fall of american exceptionalism. every single last one of us. we don’t go out and fight. we don’t demand better. we don’t hold our politicians accountable for their bullshit.
can someone point out really quick who’s doing this to us? the main people i mean.
Well, since you've already lumped all of us into "we," perhaps educate yourself on the current administration, Congress, and Supreme Court before asking your question. And, no, not everyone is complicit. Have you gone out and fought? Have you written letters to congressional leaders demanding accountability? You're equating inactivity with complicity and selling a lot of Americans short.
yes. I sure have. For over ten years. We lost & they took everything from me. I’ll soon be forced into slavery. I was just closer to the gate than you…but you’ll be up next sooner or later. when they run out of poor people to feed the engine they will look for more fuel. good luck & godspeed. maybe you will win 🤝
Do you suppose when he declared bankruptcy all those times, he just stood on a balcony and shouted it across New York City because that's what he thought it meant and none of his yes-men corrected him?
This administration’s emblem, besides being a big pile of shit, should be an ostrich with its head in the fuckin sand. The only thing more unfathomable is the brain dead Americans that support this heinous brand of insanity. Unfuckinreal.
For being a movement that is supposed to be interested in the facts they sure rule from authority an awful lot. If the law does not work for HHS than Trump can not just create his preference into law here if the evidence is against him. It is like the tylenol thing all over again but more people are going to die from this one than that.
Journalists are too much of cowards but he should be confronted pretty hard. Doctors and scientists should also be included in any discussion with RFK Jr. or others defending administration policy and have the citations on hand and available to those watching.
As this is purely arguing because we said so and nothing more.
The "Rise of Autism" is likely the younger generations genetically recovering from the episode in history where they were essentially pumping lead into the atmosphere and poisoning everyone
The problem is the model of what they considered average intelligence was generated from brains that were also exposed to it
It's why Boomers are so godamnned dumb compared to literally everyone else on the planet, and seem to lack the ability for empathy
It also explains why the world has turned to complete shit under their direction
And that's the voting block that the administration wants to show up for the midterms. The antivaxers. Will it be enough? Midterms are usually low turn out, so maybe.
They really do have an executive order for everything. Trump out here proving again that executive orders don’t mean shit. Congress holds the power in this democracy you dimwit.
The US government isn't the only source of real medical information and if the current anti-science and education administration goes this way, we just stop listening to their crap. This is irresponsible.
Clearly they are going to mark the real link that actually exists, which is that autism causes vaccines, and not continue the decades old lie that somehow vaccines cause autism.
You know it would be really cool if vaccines fully protected those vaccinated and those not well good luck. It would also be awesome if science could create something that would reverse vaccines for all those non believers but not harm anyone who is vaccinated. I feel like the world would be much better off if vaccines worked that way. Anyway I’ll keep getting mine.
But vaccines got what I crave... white house is premier shitshow... like what kind of psychological war are they doing? Those guys belong in jail, or worse. Usa has attacked its own people before too but this is just next level toxic... oh well... what can you do... live in blue state and vote out any crazy pedo protectors, health saboteur conspiracy mofos... they really scary
Look up history of fascism and the "canary in the coalmine demographics" they always target.
Current admin wants to start taking away meds that autistic people need to function day to day, they want to make it so if you are on the spectrum you will have to come to them to receive any treatment. RFK openly said he want to put us on "wellness farms".
Nazis did the same exact thing, turned us into slave labor and subjects for human experimentation.
And RFK is already doing the human experimentation shit:
And they are also doing awful shit to trans inmates and I remind you, republicans plan was always to make being LGBTQ a punishable crime and something you can be locked up for. See where this is going?
We won’t be needing an executive order linking dr oz’s mouth to Trump’s anus. Oz will soon be taking over from Kennedy and leading the charge backwards to the Dark Ages as he reaps the benefits of the billionaire class and millions suffer.

We'll see how it goes.
kittenmittens4865 | 3 hours ago
RFK has said he wants to round up everyone with ADHD into “farm camps” to help heal us away from modern technology and medications. Pretty sure they want forced agricultural labor.
I assume that’s where they want to send the autistic folks too. Sadly, it would not surprise me if they tried to “treat” people aka experiment on them without consent. Especially those most vulnerable with higher support needs, which is really sickening.
Slfestmaccnt | an hour ago
But they hate intellectuals and those less likely to fall in line, question their intentions, loyalty and ethics and just anyone who isn't a maleable dipshit.

glp62 | 9 hours ago
I think that's the primary driver here. Trump could never admit that his "perfect" genes could have sired someone on the spectrum, so he latched onto these crackpot explanations to assuage his ego.
Powderedeggs2 | 9 hours ago
The stupidest man on the planet has decreed this, therefore it must be so.
Otterfan | 12 hours ago
My money is on an order compelling the development of new separate vaccines for measles, mumps, and rubella to replace the current MMR combined vaccine.
For some reason Trump is very, very keen on doing that, and it plays publicly as less pants-on-head than other vaccine policy changes. Childhood vaccine skepticism polls poorly, and his advisors don't want him to to appear too wacky three months before mid-terms.
It's the kind of thing that's a bad idea, but it doesn't seem threatening to Joe and Janey Voter.
seasuighim | 12 hours ago
Do not most anti-vaccers complain about the amount of vaccines children recieve? This would add three more.
Otterfan | 6 hours ago
Yeah, but it's a big thing in the antivax movement for some reason.
Trump is obsessed with the idea, because it fits OK with his personal support of vaccines (he's vaccinated, his family is vaccinated) while still feeding right-wing paranoia that people with education are out to get you.
Millennial_on_laptop | 5 hours ago
They already count those as 9 different vaccines (3 doses x 3 diseases) when they tally them up.
That's how they make claims like kids are getting 60 vaccines.
PinkUnicornsRule | 8 hours ago
This was literally what the plan was for the guy who started the modern antivaxx movement, Andrew Wakefield. He claimed the three together were dangerous but separate they were fine, and he falsified evidence in his “study” linking MMR to autism.
Turns out he was hired by an American lawyer to create doubt about MMR so they could market their own measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines they were going to sell.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Trump wanted in on that grift.

JGG5 | 11 hours ago
The idea that vaccines cause autism is 1000% bullshit, but even if it weren’t: vaccines save lives, and autistic people’s lives matter.
People who want to ban vaccines because they (falsely) think they cause autism are telling autistic people that they’d rather have kids be dead than autistic.
And given that we know that autism is (at least to some extent) genetic, it’s only a short step from “ban vaccines because they (supposedly) cause autism” to “forcibly sterilize autistic people” or “round autistic people up and put them to death.”
drchris6000 | 11 hours ago
As dumb as this whole administration has been... this has to be the stupidest idea yet. The nonsense vaccine/autism thing has been investigated to death for years, and it has never produced any evidence. Just at face value, how is a vaccine given after birth causing autism in the first place? It is way more likely that during pregnancy while the brain is being developed, there is some trigger there.

I don’t think it works like that.

FYI we are in a war that is not really a war, is still ongoing which we have won 80 times. Say what you will, even Putin hasn't said this

We won’t be needing an executive order linking dr oz’s mouth to Trump’s anus. Oz will soon be taking over from Kennedy and leading the charge backwards to the Dark Ages as he reaps the benefits of the billionaire class and millions suffer.
