It just baffles me how he clearly knew enough about the internet to know how to take basic security precautions on the dark web, but somehow thought a hitman for hire site online was legit. Like it being a scam is the best case option there!

Just amazed at the amount of people who genuinely believe you can hire a hitman online!

Its common with clever people. They believe their confidence in one thing lets them navigate all of the world.

I still love that as a devout Christian he decided that checks notes its better to kill the parents of his adopted children than just navigate the odd custody arrangement he and his wife voluntarily took on. I guess murder is ok if you got reasons?

Jesus fucking christ the delusions.

Right? Way to supposedly build your entire life around devotion to this belief system and then go ahead and betray one of its most fundamental moral absolutes. It's almost like it was never really about values!!!

Doesn't matter how often we see this shit unfold, it always smacks my gob.

Someone can be decent with computers while lacking good judgment.

"Christopher, who was 41 and worked for Microsoft as a systems engineer, wanted to hire a hit man to kill a young couple he had met on only a handful of occasions.

[...]When he wasn’t logging ten-to-12-hour days working, often while listening to one of his favorite Christian rock bands..."

🤦‍♀️

Understandable, after hearing Christian rock at work for ten to 12 hours I definitely want to kill someone /s

>Two months later, Christopher logged on to the Sinaloa Cartel Marketplace. He spent weeks lingering on the site, looking closely at its FAQ, which offered half-baked answers to questions like “Could this be a honeypot operated by law enforcement?” and “Do you murder children?” (The answer to the latter: “Yes.”)

sounds legit, book it

All four parents are a disgrace. Christopher for thinking he could have the Corderos killed, Michelle for continuing to have children she believes she can homeschool and can't financially support, and the Corderos for giving away five children then continuing to have more:

>The Cordero children were also wounded by the fact that their parents were continuing to have more kids. A few months into the arrangement with the Pences, Christina gave birth to a seventh child, and in Texas they told the children they were expecting an eighth.

Oh wow, everyone involved here sucks. It starts bad and nosedives somehow.

These poor fucking kids.

This part sent me

>Michelle described [Christopher] with devotion as “a great priest, prophet, provider and protector for his family” who “truly lives out what it means to be a follower of Christ, to deny himself and live for his God, and his family.”

Gosh these poor children. Stuck between biological parents who are abusive paedophiles who keep having children they can't support, and adoptive parents who try to hire hitmen, are homeschooling fundamentalists and keep having children they can't support.

I mean obviously Cristopher is an idiot and nuts for trying to hire a hit man but… the bio parents of the adopted kids also seem off? The DCFS investigations for unknown reasons, trying to live in an RV with 6 kids, bruises on the disabled kid, allegations of the father being a “lothario” and possibly viewing CSAM, continuing to have kids after they just gave up 5 of them, giving up their kids at all! They have a lot of odd behaviors as well.
