Seriously, spiro and eplenerone already act on mineralcorticoid receptors and are generic; finerenone does it without lowering BP though is renoprotective.
That we have blunt tools with serious side effects/off target effects mean we shouldn't be excited about a narrowly tailored drug just focused on the desired area of action?
Both spiro and epi have broader action than is desired and can have significant side effects, spironolactone especially. There is a reason it is not more popular, especially in men.
This new drug could be really interesting add on to exciting therapies b/c the side effects of MRAs can make them third or later adjuncts.

Yep. Probably really similar efficacy and 1000x more expensive like ACEs vs ARBs / aliskiren. Maybe it'll find a small niche where it's preferable.
