The skincare scheme that led to consumer complaints, lawsuits and a federal investigation

I remember the mall in my hometown had a Premier Dead Sea kiosk and also a hair care kiosk that were both staffed by the most aggressive, meanest salespeople I’ve ever encountered. I avoided the section of the mall they were in after the saleswoman at Dead Sea told me I had “ugly skin.” It tracks that these companies are owned by a bunch of scumbags.

Dead Sea smelled so good though!

The Auntie Anne’s pretzel shop was right there so that whole corner of the mall smelled like pretzels lol. I bet the Dead Sea stuff smelled nice! Like I feel like the products were fine, just not worth the wild upsells and super aggro sales people!

Yeah, they had one at the big mall in the last city I lived in and they were RELENTLESS.

>"But immigration authorities aren't looking for us. Immigration is looking for the Mexicans who sell drugs, less for the Israelis who contribute to their economy."

There are some real gems of quotes in this article!

Oh man! I am feeling very lucky that I did have it any worse than overpriced skincare.

Many years ago I got am Oro Gold exfoliant. It was like $50, a sum outside my usual skincare budget. It was oK, and I later got a similar product at Target for like $10! No weird charges, just one overpriced product.

And I am 90% sure I got a mini hair straightener from the HerStyler brand. I vaguely remember agressive tactics. But they must have been very early in the scamming. These were only mall kiosks. No space to trap you beyond a stool.
