The actual compound is not listed in the article or even known by the scientist yet. More research is required to figure out the exact cannabinoid or other compound.
I think the problem with non stoners researching marijuana is that they've just got no fucking idea about the common sense day-to-day part of the equation.
They're looking for a chemical reaction when it's just behaviour based.
The lab rat could probably tell them why we don't want to eat when we're already stoned. They wouldn't listen though they'd put it down to the rat is delirious or something. Next paper would be.... "Marijuana causes rats to talk shit" ... I don't know man.
Since we seem to think alike, tell me what you think about this exchange when I was with my sister.
We were out buying groceries for dinner and I saw some cereal and said ‘you need high snacks at your house’ (yes I was high) and she said, well, tell me what you want me to keep at the house and I will’ and I said ‘that’s the problem, I don’t know what I want until I’m actually high, so I can’t say this or that cause I want something different’.
Like I don’t have a go to snack, could be salty, sweet, spicy, anything I want in that moment really
I like a spoon full of hot sauce when I'm high. Or apple sauce from a jar.
I think the key takeaway is that I'm lazy and will just take a spoon to the fridge rather than assemble foods.
That's another confound.
If people are cognitively impaired and their co-ordination is suffering then not only are they less able to follow a recipe but they are more likely to burn or give up on said recipe causing a loss of ingredients and resulting in no food.
They would also be a bit of a confound with the the fact that when you are quitting you replace it with another source of easy happy feels like food.
So when people are smoking they are thinner than when they are not because their behaviour changes not because what in the pot.
It could also be a chemical compound in the pot but you would have to correct for the confounding factors of fighting the the munchies to stay stoned and using the munchies to avoid getting stoned before you could propose anything.
Once upon a time when I wasn’t a little lightweight like I am now, I smoked like snoop and I ate everything. I also drank a boatload of water and got great sleep. I shed weight like I was on diet pills. I have never been as skinny as I was when I was gobbling donuts and ramen to my hearts content because of weed.
The best part of that was that I started smoking for medical reasons. The medical issue I had made it impossible for me to lose weight and I was trying everything. When I started smoking I thought… fuck it. If this is what my body is now I’m just gonna live my life and then bam it all just melted away. 🤷♀️

Came here to say this. I work in a dispo and I've heard customers refer to it as "diet weed" or "weederall".
Believe me, it works! Most readily available in edibles too.

Speaking for myself only:
It makes me lose weight because I know if I munch out the stone will wear off faster.
I just want to be stoned more than I want to eat.

My daily challenge. I already fast so my morning high is pretty amazing so fighting the urge to snack is for sure strong.

I like making peanut butter crackers by dipping a knife into the peanut butter and spreading it on a ritz and topping it off with another cracker.
Also Fuego Takis.

You can do that with tinned top and fill caramel and milk arrowroots.
