I was shocked to find out that they wanted to bring back Adobe Flash, was very pleased (and disheartened at the same time) that it was about flashing devices.
We are pleased to offer a set of web flash-tools, something that had been requested for many years. Now by accessing the flasher through our download portal, you will be able to use your browser to flash using fastboot, adb, Samsung’s Odin protocol, and Amlogic’s burn mode. Please remember though that this is not a complete flashing process, you still must follow our wiki instructions for your specific device.
I assumed as much. It looks like Chromium-based browsers are the only ones that support WebUSB.
But even if you’re like me and don’t have Chrome…it’s still easier to install Chrome or Chromium to use them to flash your device, rather than trying to explain to someone how to install Lineage/Graphene the manual way.
I had been curious about installing LineageOS since my Samsung S20 FE 5G (absurd name) doesn't get updates but is mostly in great shape and performs well.
Two hang ups though -- my exact model number isn't on their list, I'd need to compile my own build (kill me). And the one part that isn't in good shape is... the USB-C port. I'm full wireless between charging and a "QR-LAN" file server I made that lets me file transfer over WiFi by scanning a QR code on my desktop (I know there's stuff like KDE connect but this has less friction, more flexible).

That’s awesome. One of the best things about GrapheneOS is how easy it is to install right from their website (as long as you use Chrome).

LineageOS' only work in Chromium-based browsers as well. Something related to a WebUSB thing.
