I was kidnapped and held hostage for 977 days. Could I forgive my captors?

I remember listening to a podcast with this guy years ago. Really interesting to hear how all of this resolved. I did skim some portions but I don’t think I’m repeating something that was in the article: he tried to stay in shape by doing yoga, but that will only do so much for you, and when he returned to normal life in Berlin he was so deconditioned that he ran out of breath just trying to catch a bus.

Anyways fascinating read and honestly his story would make a great film

His book is excellent for anyone who hasn’t read it!

Really interwsting. The juxtaposition between Islamic fundamentalists and their desire to live in the West is always so interesting to me

What makes you think Somali pirates are Islamic fundamentalists?

I am referring to the person in the article who the author explicitly referred to as being incredibly well read and invested in the Quran
