Chinese EV maker claims it's engineered the world’s first semi-solid-state EV battery with huge 620-mile range: The experimental manufacturing process could one day deliver a vehicle with a 1,000-plus mile range, researchers say.

>one day

Put a thousand mile range on the ev and charge time isn’t as big an issue. As long as it’s still no more than an hour ofc.

As for everybody else who has claimed this: I believe it when i see it.

If they actually have: Congrats! Give me phone with 1200 day battery NOW.

Elon's fully self driving car from 10 years ago will deliver it to you.

Lmao

His humanoid robot will deliver it personally, 5 years ago.

lol. That’s not how this technology works, also Semi solid state batteries have been commercially available for a few years now. Spoiler they aren’t great and this likely isn’t either. Donut labs already has a fully solid state battery that is being used in actual products. This is typical China glazing slop.

Donutlabs does not have a product on the market. They haven't provided a single definitive proof of their claims yet, it simply remains to be seen whether they are being honest or not.

Yeah, Im sure. 99.99% of these articles are always bullshit. Scientific advancement in established tech is rarely made in breakthroughs, more like incremental stuff.

Does it work? What does it need to work? How expensive is it?

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say... No, no you didn't. You might think you did, and your managers are sure you did, but you didn't.

Why do you say that?

The EVs with the longest range go nearly 500 miles on a charge. Is a 25% increase really that unthinkable with different battery technology? 20 years ago the max range of an EV was probably around 20 miles. Are you just generally unaware of advances in technology? They happen.
