More than 3,000 marches and rallies took place yesterday in cities and towns across America during the third “No Kings” event, where millions protested against the policies and actions of President Trump and his administration.
I am from Canada so don't take this the wrong way. I notice the absence of black protesters. Where is the equivalent of the BLM protest groups? It's a sea of Hispanic and white faces.
There’s a couple of macro narratives (both are probably over simplifications).
we’re sitting this one out. We’ve been saying this shit for ages, and American folks (especially white liberals) frustratingly ignore, discount, and dismiss our concerns. We are letting the frog costume crew work their opposition tactics on their terms but the methods, goals, and most importantly, historically conditional ally ship makes ir hard to trust our “partners”. So we’re gonna sit this one out.
Separate but related this general idea. This isn’t a time for margianizeld folks to come out and get their faces scanned by the Plantir drones, it’s time for white people to step up. “Use your privilege” as the kids say.
I think there’s some truth to both but the reality is (of course) more complicated.
Also, am I crazy? This is such a low impact, wine mom, schumer ass protest. It lasts for one day. This shit is fake as fuck. They wanna know why the BLM crowd didn’t show up, That shit was round the clock in some areas. We had a march the size of the recent NO KINGS in my city every week at least. Even the name pisses me off. He’s not a king he’s a fascist. This whole thing feels like a knee-jerk overreaction to the backlash from defund the police. Over sanitized, overly safe, completely ineffectual.
Bullshit, this protest not only allowed us to redress the government for grievances, it also demonstrated our resolve and determination. We are conducting ourselves peacefully. This administration would like nothing more than an excuse to invoke Material law and cancel the mid-terms.

Thank you for the thought full response. I had not considered the threat to those you refer to as marginalized.

As opposed to whining online about people exercising their rights?
