Introduction to the PineTime Pro

More smartwatches with open software (and with Gadgetbridge compatibility and no "unlock" requirement) are always welcome! And the blood oxygen sensor is one of the things I would definitely want in a smartwatch. What I'm wondering though is whether this watch will have some usable sleep tracking. In my experience that's a feature that is usually missing from open source watches – maybe it requires too much research to be doable by small companies? Or has this changed in the last two years?

I don't really care about gps, microphone or speaker. Ok, open source software, so not going to spy on me. But better display and more memory will help with fonts for notifications, which is my main benefit from pinetime over an older watch. If only the battery will last as well

My PineTime is one of the best devices I ever bought. I'd be ordering this if I didn't have a pebble already arriving very soon

As a longtime Pinetime user/hacker, I find this news very welcome .. I can’t wait to have a slightly upgraded Pinetime on my wrist. The existing one is great - no doubt about it - and very fun to write new apps/watchfaces for, with quite some different OS’s to choose from .. but the inclusion of a slightly more powerful CPU .. and most of all, GPS .. is going to make the Pinetime Pro an instant buy for me personally…

GPS means just GPS or also the other countries system like Galileo, BeiDou and GLONASS? In phones it's usually the latter but maybe it's more expensive/power hungry so it's not here

probably the latter, as far as I know chipsets only supporting one are fairly unusual nowadays.

My favorite upgrade is the external debug port, so you won't have to sacrifice water resistance in order to hack it
