Jehovah's Witness rules on blood transfusions have changed, but it's too late for my brother

That is a weird-ass religion. Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that 144,000 people will be in heaven. Everyone else is "meh!"

Culty like the Scientology and Mormons

What a hard read, my heart goes out to the brother. Restrictive religions like JWs and Mormons are absolutely cults that ruin people’s lives, and now both are slowly peeling back the weird stuff so people will think they’re normal. Don’t fall for it.

It’s hard to admit your faith was wrong, hard to think people died in vain for them, so I can see people refusing to leave the faith —- something like the sunk cost fallacy. It’s so weird what people will exclude or include when applying ancient text to modern science. But this is probably why I don’t engage with religious institutions.
