Finished on Sunday: The Blood in Winter: A Nation Descends 1642 by Jonathan Healey.
4/5
Not much to say about it really. Fairly in-depth political history of 1641 and 1642 and the leadup to the English Civil War. Well written and easyish to follow (considering its a political history). Good at getting into the mindsets of the people at the time and the issues that led to civil war (religion and the nature of the kings power etc).
Didn't enjoy it as much as Healey's Blazing World book but if the English Civil War is of interest I'd say its worth reading.
