At the risk of sounding alarmist, I’ll say: today alone I’ve read this story of AI’s penchant for violence-mongering, and a news story of an OpenAI “agent” hacking a government healthcare system in Australia without having been prompted to do so.
It leaves me feeling that this will inevitably, inescapably lead to war; there’s a possibility that it already has.
