Many years ago I was doubtful of Godot's staying power in an industry where many have tried and failed but I think it becomes clearer with every update that there is a good chance for Godot to be the Blender of the game dev world. Great stuff to see such nice progress from the team and community.
I think some of Unity's (attempts at?) (actually implemented?) pricing changes gave Godot a big boost, both in terms of attention and in terms of contributors.
I made a couple Unity games with small groups for game jams, and I know Godot's on my list next time I get a chance to do that. Partly because of announcements that seemed like rug-pulls in the making, and partly because the Godot authoring environment is so much less invasive on my machine. But I also like LÖVE quite a bit, so there's a chance my preferences aren't reflective of the masses.
Especially confidence-inspiring to me is the fact that the contributor names on the highlighted features in this release are all different. I still remember the days when Godot was mostly Juan Linietsky with a few odd contributions from others here and there. I think it has truly grown into a healthy community project!

Real-time shader preview in the editor is an absolutely amazing concept.
