I just feel very satisfied about finally organizing a bunch of links and resources I've been hoarding over the years. I even put together a couple of basic HTML tutorials. And I'm excited to join the small web.
If you're interested in un-enshittification, making/customizing your own fun little webpage, DIY tech/creative stuff, then you might find my site useful.
Maybe you have a cool website I can link to?? Suggestions I can add here? Will try to update my site every now and then.
Self-promotion disclosure: Some of my recommendations use affiliate links. I plan to sell an ebook (related to web development) on this site later on.
I have all sorts of tools/etc I've bookmarked. This is not the absolute full list but one I cut down slightly for this post. Hopefully someone here finds these useful- and of course OP (or anyone) feel free to add these to your own sites/lists/etc. I've been meaning to make my links/tools page on my site way more robust by adding a lot of these but hadn't yet.
Some of these are lists or big grids/"many in one" tools too, so some of these sites can probably be looked through for more things to link to individually
Sure thing! Yeah the Winamp museum is so fun to just look through. Some of them are very much "of a particular era" whether it's design language or pop culture references haha. I have a few downloaded that I still use from time to time.
I always love to find more of these kinds of tools/links, so I've been going through the ones on your site. Always some neat new little corner of the web to discover where people are still making cool and useful things
Cool stuff! I really enjoyed the (even 2026-updated!) email obfuscation article, since I’ve dealt with that topic before personally (and didn’t think scraping mechanisms would still be this dumb/cheap, so was more concerned than I perhaps needed to be :P).
The more things you add, the longer this page will become. Maybe you could consider adding a table of contents, at least for the bigger overarching categories?
This is an awesome resource! Thanks for putting it together and sharing - I'll have fun looking through them! Some quick suggestions for additions:
Maybe mention static site generators? Creating a whole website whole cloth from html can be intimidating whereas an SSG is just markdown -> run SSG -> push to host
I've been digging into gemini (no, not that gemini, this gemini) using the lagrange browser and visiting gemini://skyjake.fi/~Cosmos/ and gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/
I like this little project: wander console which is like a decentralized stumbleupon (if you remember that website) and very easy to host given an existing static site. If anyone does pick this up let me know and I'll add you to my console
Please mention RSS! RSS is soooo good and lots of websites still have feeds. Being able to get people's blog posts delivered in one place is :chef's kiss:. I good reminder that I need to put my opml file up on my website to help share around TTRPG blogs that I'm aware of
Thanks so much! I'll see if I can get into SSGs and RSS too. That reminds me, I do have an old minimalist PHP flatfile CMS I made years ago... maybe I'll dig it up and rework it!
Thanks, I love this site and its calming layout/design!
I recommend adding DaVinci Resolve on the video/audio section! The free version is almost fully featured in a user-friendly way - only serious pro users need the few features that come with the paid version and the license is a one time, reasonably affordable fee. (The company's business model is to make money by selling hardware and the software is more a perk that attracts users to the ecosystem.)
I just learned that they even added photo editing features for the new version! Which blows my mind because colour grading for video is so good that I always secretly hoped I could process still photos with it. Haven't checked it out yet but it's very promising.
While I'm at it, here's a YT channel with extremely professional tutorials for Resolve. I was kind of stunned to find material like this available for free! I guess a good quality non-shitty piece of software attracts good hearted people who want to do their part and help that community grow.
Thanks for letting me know! I just checked DNS propagation and there do seem to be issues in some areas currently, including Netherlands.
In case this works better, I don't mind sharing my webpage HTML file with you from my Dropbox. It's just plain HTML with no CSS styling so it'll be ugly, but you should be able to open it in any browser and see my full list of links.
I'm curious why Mullvad VPN makes these lists when Windscribe's build-a-plan option is cheaper and just as private from what I can tell? No email required and you can pay with cryptocurrency if that's your cup of tea.

I'll definitely have to add a table of contents at some point, thank you!
And yes-- personally using the text conversion JS method for obfuscation myself. I'm so happy it's easy.

Wanted to look but it doesn't seem to be loading at all for me right now. Is it down?
Edit: finally loaded but it was very slow loading from the Netherlands with a gigabit connection. (Like 30 seconds -> 1min)

In my case I just hadn't heard of Windscribe before, so thanks for letting me know! I will add it :)
