I work in a field where my career would likely cap out as a senior earning ~£37k, living in an expensive UK city. Are living costs and salary expectations really that much greater in NYC?!
Paying more (above a certain level) won’t find more of those people it will simply dilute the pool with people who are there for the money, not the mission.
