I went to the downloads page and gave Servo a try for the first time in a while? Maybe the very first time?

It's definitely not ready for primetime. But I was startled by how quickly the browser window appeared when I launched it. I thought I did something wrong at first! Web browsers are supposed to sleep for a second before anything shows up on screen!

I don't know how much of that is Servo itself being fast, as opposed to Servo having practically no UI to load (and definitely no extensions). But I hope the snappiness bodes well.

Your comment got me to download and try it too, just to see this snappiness myself.

WOW it's fast. Moreover, it handled all but one of the websites that I threw at it. And that website's name? Lobsters. ☠️

Oddly enough it works just fine under 0.0.3 (which is the version currently available on Nixpkgs). But when I compiled 0.0.4 and tried, yeah, it's broken. Probably just a temporary regression.

Someone opened an issue for it it. Seems to relate to CSP https://github.com/servo/servo/issues/42128

Can't wait to see someone make a Qutebriwser port with it!

I am really hopeful GNOME Web/Epiphany moves to Servo someday.
