Man, this guy is going to prison eventually. He’s developed quite a tangled web before he got his position, and absolutely during the time he held it.

Dude made a shit ton of enemies in the defense sector. As soon as his usefulness runs out in two years, he will find himself some deep shit. Fuck hegseth

I notice you didn’t mention “presidential pardon”. Trump is going to use him as a scapegoat for the massive error that is Iran - an error that partially impacted the mid-term election.

The power to pardon needs to be removed, or severely limited in some fashion. It’s insane how this administration has pardoned almost 2,000 criminals in less than 2 years. It’s not fair that those who have power can simply pardon each other or take cash for a pardon for crimes that would put the rest of us in prison for decades.

Problem was that Heggy started and lost the Iran war. The whole world can see what a disaster the war was, the limits of American missile defence systems, and the failure of American military supremacy.

Losing a big war that you started destroys the credibility and marketing reputation of American weapon systems. The MIC hates that they will lose Saudi money, piss off the Canadians who may cut the f35 orders, and piss off the Europeans.

Heggy is toast because he made the American military look weak. No amount of testosterone stunts will wipe away the stain of defeat

> As soon as his usefulness runs out in two years,

I really don't think he lasts that long. He's probably not making it past February of next year. He's not popular with Republicans in the Senate, who will be happy to throw him under the bus so they can later claim they "did something" to stop Trump's more blatant policy blunders and war crimes.

If Low-T Pete was a smart man, he'd be taking Russian language classes already. Impeachment and conviction seems like the least of his worries. If someone like Mark Kelly runs for President in 2028 and wins, he might well find his new last name being re-written as Hagueseth. Sure, the US isn't a signatory, but that doesn't mean we can't voluntarily hand people over anyway.

He has a Rudy Giuliani-shaped future.

The wild thing is that he will have managed to go to prison for corruption before he got popped for sexual violence or a DUI.

Wild indeed. Just shows us what we all already knew: one can commit a lot of crimes, and one can get away with a hell of a lot if one is important or highly ranked enough.

But, do not fuck with rich peoples money.

Republicans are not going to enforce the law on themselves.

And in 2020 we gave Democrats the House and the Executive Branch, who's power in our system of checks and balances is LITERALLY law enforcement - and even after Trump launched a coup where people were beaten and killed - they did not see a single one of the organizers prosecuted.

Not sure who is going to put Hegseth in prison.

This is not 2020. Democrats need to get burned before they learn. It happened with Obama and budget negotiations, and the lesson will be carried forward by Jack Smith in 2029.

If you want to see how corrupt a government official is take a look at the income of their family. They always give no show income jobs to their family members. This administration has lots of that.

This admin also likes to use book deals for their allies, then have the PACs buy them up so they hit bestseller status and their bonuses kick in; then it's gone and off the records.
