Fascinating and yet troubling article about a "parental rights" case in Florida. This was ultimately framed as a left-vs.-right issue by people at the very end of the article, when at its core, this should simply be a “what is best for the child?” issue. The very real and understandable desire to become a parent should not outweigh the rights and needs of the child being brought into the world.... however, we live in a capitalist society and any chance to extract dollars out of vulnerable people (despite the societal outcomes) are prioritized over everything...
