CERT-In Vulnerability Note CIVN-2026-0537
Multiple Vulnerabilities in Tata Motors iRA and iRA.ev Application

Original Issue Date:November 04, 2026

Severity Rating: HIGH

Systems Affected

  • Tata Motors iRA 2.0 versions 26.7.3 and below
  • Tata Motors iRA.ev versions 26.7.2 and below

Overview

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Tata Motors iRA and iRA.ev applications, which could allow an attacker to obtain sensitive credentials or access to vehicle related information and services.

Target Audience:
Users of the affected iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev mobile applications.

Risk Assessment:
Risk of unauthorized access to sensitive information, user impersonation and unauthorized modification of application data.

Impact Assessment:
Potential for unauthorized access and modification of data with the privileges of the impersonated user.

Description

The iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev mobile applications are Tata Motors connected vehicle applications for internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) customers, respectively. They provide access to vehicle related information and connected services, including remote vehicle commands, vehicle status and health monitoring and trip information.

1. Hardcoded Credentials Vulnerability (

CVE-2026-121144   )

This vulnerability exists in the iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev mobile applications due to presence of hardcoded service account credentials, API Keys and authorization tokens within the application package. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by downloading application package and extracting embedded sensitive information.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow the attacker to gain unauthorized access to associated backend services and potentially access sensitive information or perform unauthorized operations on the targeted system.

2. Insecure Configuration Vulnerability ( CVE-2026-121145   )

This vulnerability exists in the iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev mobile applications due to insufficient validation of URLs and origins loaded within the WebView component. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending malicious web content to the affected WebView.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow the attacker to perform unauthorized interaction with application functionality, obtain live bearer authentication tokens and potentially impersonate the associated user and access vehicle related information and services.

3. Information Disclosure Vulnerability ( CVE-2026-121146   )

This vulnerability exists in the iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev mobile applications due to the recording of authentication tokens in application logs used for development and debugging. A local attacker with an access to logs could exploit this vulnerability by retrieving and misusing the exposed session tokens.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow the attacker to impersonate the associated user and gain unauthorized access to vehicle related information and services.

4. Security Misconfiguration Vulnerability ( CVE-2026-121147   )

This vulnerability exists in the iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev mobile applications due to improper implementation of SSL certificate pinning in the network security configuration, resulting in ineffective certificate pinning controls. An attacker positioned to intercept network traffic could exploit this vulnerability to intercept or modify communications between the application and its backend services.
